The concierge was truly brilliant!
The concierge, Ronnie, was fantastic!
The beds and pillows were unbelievably uncomfortable
Convenience to restaurants and shopping, safe.
Costly parking nearby and beds were short, didn't appear to be queen sized in the room provided us.
Staff is cool, room and bed are comfortable, and the location is excellent.
The only thing we did not like, was the food in the restaurant.
I liked the convenience to various neighborhoods and subway stops, the great design, the helpful staff and the overall ambience. It more than met my expectations.
Of course I wish it were cheaper. Also the breakfast area is a bit small.
Location, location, location! It has been about 20 years since I stayed at the Washington Square Hotel, and it has really improved its look. The decor is now art deco which was fabulous, the beds were very comfortable (good mattresses), and the wait staff were friendly and helpful. My daughter (15 yr old) were there on a shopping trip, and since we spent most of our time in Soho and the West Village, the location of the hotel was great.
The price of the room with two single beds came out to be more than $300 per night. Seems high, but its NYC, right?
Nothing particular. Breakfast is ok with choice between Menu or Buffet. Nice neighbourhood; walk thru Washington Square park watching the Squirls, Musicians, Guys playing chess etc.
I had booked a Luxury room. Apart from a coffeemaker, there was not so much luxury in this tiny room, without even a hook to hang up your coat or a place to open your suitcase, other than your bed. My room was at the street level, very noisy, every early morning there were garbage trucks and delivery trucks with engines running.
My sister lives on Cornelia Street so the location is very good. I like the park close by and I love Bleecker St and the Village in general.
Great location, as I was visiting my son who is a student at NYU. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were courteous and professional. Waverly Place is a quiet street, and Washington Square Park is right on the doorstep,
My room was very small and the window looked out over an air shaft. As an older hotel I am sure that the rooms vary in size -- next time I will ask for a larger room. The free breakfast was nice, but no granola or muesli was on offer
Price was higher than it stated on line
Close to my jobsite and not wayyy overpriced like most other area hotels.
I found one little bug that could have been a bed bug on my towel in the morning. Everything was white (sheets/towels/bathroom floor/etc) which was nice because it was easy to see if there were any bugs. I must admit that I was concerned, having heard horror stories about people staying in nyc and bringing bed bugs back to their homes. So when I saw the bug, I was a little freaked out. However, there was only one, and it was in the bathroom. I looked at my white bed spread and sheets and did not see any.
The great thing about this hotel and what makes it unique is its excellent location. I didnt see anyother hotels around Greenwich village. The hotel is easy walking distance to a wide variety of cafes and restaurants and across the road from the park. The subway is about 100 metres away.
On the downside the hotel is quite a no frills environment, breakfast was adequate but nothing special and the rooms are on the small side. These are all definately worth bearing for the location in Greenwich Village.
Room was very small and dark and dismal. There was very little natural light and it was hot even though it was quite cool outside.
Room decor is pretty lame
